Sustainable investment strategy
We are aware of the responsibility we have towards the environment and society and take sustainable investment seriously. This is why, as part of the Deutsche Rück Group, we signed the PRI (Principles for Responsible Investment) investor initiative on 17 September 2019.
PRI is an internationally recognised financial initiative supported by the UN partner organisations Global Compact and UNEPFI and promotes sustainable investment. It aims to achieve a better understanding of the impacts of investment decisions on environmental aspects, social issues and factors of good corporate governance.
Alongside our parent company Deutsche Rück, we have integrated ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) factors into our investment process.
- The Deutsche Rück Group is aiming to make its investments greenhouse gas-neutral by 2050.
- As a component of an “active ownership”, the Deutsche Rück Group actively influences the sustainability decisions of companies.
- In our investment portfolios, we no longer make new investments in shares or interest-bearing securities issued by companies or banks that violate the exclusion criteria we have defined.
- With us, taking sustainability aspects into account when investing in property is standard practice.
